Tutoring for the 2023-2024 school year for a limited number of clients.

Available 11:30 AM - 4:30 PM Eastern Time, Saturdays and Sundays.

$220 per 75-minute appointment, $165 per 50-minute appointment, $110 per 25-minute appointment. Zoom only.

About me: I have a Ph.D. in Applied Mathematics from Cornell University.

I have taught at the college level (8 years+) at Cornell, Johns Hopkins University, and American University. My strongest suit is Statistics---I taught 22 sections of Basic Statistics as the instructor on record at American University between 2014 and 2020. I have explained the concepts of Basic Statistics to students many times, and know how to convey understanding.

I also feel comfortable tutoring Mathematics, including Calculus, as well as Physics, and Computer Programming (Python, R, SQL). I am currently a Data Scientist working in Industry and, additionally, I would love to mentor Data Science projects. Lots of data can be downloaded for free for many topics that students have a passion for, such as sports, entertainment, and more.

As an example of a specific service I provide, I work with a parent helping her child through high-school math. When she wants to help her child with a problem she does not know how to solve, she sends the problem to me and schedules a brief appointment (25 minutes has always been sufficient). I explain to her (the parent) how to solve the problem, and then she helps the child.

I can work with parents, like just described, and I can also work directly with children or adult students.
