-I like having homework due, so that students are prepared for the next class and so that we can discuss the homework at the beginning of each class.  Having said that, I should point out that I am trying to design the homework sets so that homework can be completed in lab.  Unfortunately, I do not know how long students are actually spending on homework, but I intend to rectify the situation. The question will be on the next survey.  My impression is that students are spending more time than I wanted.  I have been making an effort to make assignments easier and will continue with this trend.
